Notes: Myth alert! All British beer was exported to India, and IPA was not even the strongest! It also clocked in around 4% ABV for many brewers. However, Brit IPA is definitely hoppy, but not the hops you know today. Instead these hops (Goldings) display more flowery aromas, with candy and herbaceous overtones that transport you to a grassy field in the spring.

Brighton draught, 7/12/22. Clear, blonde-golden with a medium-sized, moderately-well-retained, white head. Lemon-lime, plentiful herbs and tons of white bread and cracker without as much fruity yeast ester as expected, though still ample. Clean, no alcohol noted. More citrus in the flavor than I'd prefer, though it's not overly bitter and the malt is a little soggy, though soft and ample, as well. Fruity esters and citrus dominate with a somewhat monotonous white bread-like malt character and lingering bitter citrus.

Pours deep copper into a shaker. Bright white soapy head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and butterscotch upfront turning to mild, earthy pine in the medium length finish.
