This Czech Dark Lager pours black cherry color with a light cream-colored head. Aromas of sweet malt, toast and black current. Silky smooth with light roast, dark cherry and bread crust. Finishes soft with a light lingering sweetness.

5 oz. pour on tap as part of a flight at the brewery. Clear, dark brown/mahogany w/thin head & nice lacing. Aroma is light roasted malt & nuts. Taste is toasted malt, toffee, hint of dark fruit & nuts. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation toasted malt finish. Nice!

Brewery draught, 3/4/23. Clear, dark, large, tan head, moderate-to-strong retention. Toasty, moderately roasty nose with strong chocolate and light licorice. Preponderance of specialty malt but there's ample base malt sweetness. Clean, low, herbal hop character. Soft, malty, moderately sweet, very toasted with lots of spice from hop and licorice-like character from specialty malt. Not quite as bright as the pils but still very well-done.
