750mL Armand 4 Seasons bottle (love 'em), undated, drunk 1/28/23. Clear, well-carbonated, rich hay-golden with a massive, well-retained, white head. Ginger and basil always make me cringe when I see it combined with the word saison (to be fair most any adjunct does), but Buttonwoods gets away with it and more here. Extremely tastefully done with ginger not even coming through much at all in the nose. Soft, well-expressed Brett with tart acids suggesting light lime skin. Sacch. yeasts show great saison character as well with mild yellow fruits and black pepper, hints of plaster/mineral. Rich, honey-like malts and just a hint of the adjuncts that you could easily take for a yeast ester/phenol. Soft, brett-forward but not dominated. Very tasetful adjuncts. Like the nose, it's very classy and balanced with rich malt and good attenuation. So much flavor for its size. Clean, excellent grain character. Juicy, light tartness and lots of fruitiness and pepper.
