This robust porter is loaded with dark cocoa notes from NY-grown chocolate rye. Not quite as much roasted malt flavor as a stout but getting there! Maine Malt House, Peterson Quality Malt (VT), Valley Malt (MA) and Four Star Farms (MA)

Brewery draught, 1/28/23. Dark, clear. Small, off-white head with low retention. Huge hazelnut-licorice-chocolate notes in the nose with low base malt character. Clean, lots of coffee notes. Fruity, soft, malty but with assertive roast bitterness. Nutty, chocolate, licorice-forward. Very assertive and flavorful. Maybe a bit roastier than I care for, but respectable.
