Brown 33cl bottle, bottled 14 Oct 09, drank 15 Dec 09. Poured into a Veltins badged stemmed tulip glass. Looked quiet promising, large tan head sat on top of a brown beer with red hints when held up to the Christmas lights. No aroma what so ever, not even a hint of hop, malt or yeast, let alone any Christmas type spices or flavours. Fizzy and tasteless, what a let down, malty but boring, dry from the start and with no sparkle or Christmas feel to it. Thin and with no redeeming features I could find, a huge disappointment.

Schlecht! 9/6/5/4/8/5

Bottle. Sweet malt aroma, light fruity, molassis. Dark red claret, low head. Berrylike base, light pine hoppyness, quick dry finish. Light sparkly mouthfeel. Light roast aftertaste. Pleasant enough, in a blind tasting I would have put this down as a fruity Dunkles.

Bottle: Poured a reddish brown in color with a froathy head. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Taste was similiar and sweet roasted malt. Not the top of the heap as far as x-mas beers go.

Bottle, 5.5%. Nice dark red brown colour. The flavour is rather alcoholic. Otherwise a little like a malty strong lager.

(33cl bottle, with thanks to Saarlander) Clear, brown colour with a reddish shine and a medium-sized beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with a light herbal hoppy touch. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft to medium carbonation. Toast-malty taste, slightly nutty; dry-ish, malty, slightly bitter finish with a touch of hops and a note of marzipan in the aftertaste. Not bad, but undemanding.

Bottle (@ D’dorf Gathering) Clear, reddish amber coloured, small off-white head; faint malty - roast-malty - nose, a bit sourish; faint sweet-bitter flavour; light sweetish-malty finish. Not really impressive, X-mas seems to be a boring thing down in Luxemburg..................
