Bottle thanks to toby pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is citrus hops some grassy notes and wheat malts. Taste is more of the sweet cereal malts grassy citrus hops.

12oz bottle. Citra takes it in a sort of different direction, but the steam beer aspects are bigger than the hop tone, which is sort of bland and bitter. Bright in some respects, but also some thick malt tone. An OK APA, unique enough. OK balance.

Probably hurts my opinion on this beer that I finished a sixer of Cigar City Guayabera a couple days ago; while drinkable, Anchor’s Citra pale ale doesn’t come close to the citric goodness of its Florida brethren. Very dry and bready, with a good bit of lemon zest and grapefruit against a doughy, Saltine-ish malt base. Finishes without much in the way of bitterness, but the lingering lemon note is nice. Overall decent but skippable.
