De rebrew van de Balcones Imperial Stout 2023. De gebruikte mouten zorgen voor een licht zuurtje en tannines. Het is niet al te zwaar, en een mooie tweede versie. Deze editie is een ideaal bier om de wereld van Barrel Aged bieren in te stappen.

Dark brown colour, minimal creamy brown head; aroma of whisky, dark chocolate, burnt coconut, and soy sauce; taste has the same notes with heavy roasted coffee; good one

0.33l bottle. Many thanks to Lore. Black body with a thin brown head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, bourbon, oak, cocoa and nutmeg. Pretty nice, smooth RIS.I like it.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Roasted malt with whiskey barrel, vanilla, burnt malt, chocolate, caramel, oak. Mild sweet with a little bitterness and alcohol. Nice, chocolate roast and whiskey barrel.

Bottle from Pivny Raj, Mlynské Nivy. Dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma of whiskey, dark malt, coconut, roasted malt, light hops. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, whiskey, spices, licorice, light peat. Nice.

Shared bottle at Justicna tasting. Malty aroma and taste, cocoa, whisky notes, light roastyness, wooden barrel notes, alcohol, medium to high bitter. Full body, malty cocoa whisky barrel wooden bitter and light sweet notes with warming alcohol finish. Good.

Svart. Høyt lysebrunt skum. Daler sakte. Spotlacing. Inviterende aroma av sjokolade. Snev av whisky. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken lakris, torv & kakao. Tørr avslutning.Tydelig alkoholisk preg etter hvert.

Bottled 330ml. -at Goblet Zagreb, shared with Marko & Hrabren. Black coloured, small brown head, chocolate and whisky in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, notes of whisky and mild peat with light alcohol in the finish.

0.33l bottle shared with the usual suspects at Goblet ZG. Black body, off-white head. Coconut aroma, papery, peaty, light smoke. Smooth taste, light dry chocolate, orange liqueur, some barrel, light nutty notes. Well balanced, nice even!

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. The oily pour reveals a bubbly, tan head leaving scattered lacing on the glass, coal black body. Well roasted aromas of chocolate malts and dark fruits, oaky. Comprehensive and balanced taste of earthy chocolate, biscuit, dark berries and dark fruits. Roasted bitter ending, long lived, oaky with a bourbon bite. Excellent sipper on a dark Friday eve. (Tromsø, 08.11.2024).
