440ml can, thanks to Mike for squirrelling this away for me! A gusher unfortunately! Black appearance, thin brown head. Robust rich coffee nose, continuing to taste alongside rich dark malt layers and a little fire on the finish. Quite a nice complex stout. Shame I lost a quarter of it.

Can shared with a mate (Rushall Olympic FC’s full back Josh Green to be precise). Pours a thick black with a whispy tan head. Usual stouty goodness, coffee, vanilla chocolate and lovely roasty malts.

Cask at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Black pour with smooth tanned head. Notes of dark malt, coffee, liquorice, Neapolitan ice cream, oats. Creamy, rich. Good stuff.

Near black with a small bubbly tan head and sweet coffee on the nose with hints of creamy vanilla. Milk chocolate sweetness, some vanilla, soft roasted malt and mellow dry coffee bitterness in the finish

Can at home from HOTM. Black colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are malty coffee, and light sweet vanilla. Medium body.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours almost black with minimal tan head and good lacing. Oats are the mainstay of the aroma, plus some roasted malts. In the mouth it is quite bitter but with s little underlying sweetness. Flavour has oats, Bitter coffee grounds,= and malts. Hints of cola and vanilla come through later. Bitterness lasts into the dry finish. This is rather nice.
