There’s an argument to be had that no hop variety has had more of an earth-shattering impact on brewing as we know it today than Citra.

First cultivated in 1990 as HBC 394 and an absolute revolution when it was first released commercially in the early 2000s, this certified Stateside slammer completely changed the game and opened the door for the massively fruit forward hoppy beers that dominate the industry today.

Interwoven throughout our own history here at Polly’s, we’ve utilised this hop on everything from pin-brite pale ales, to hoppy stouts, and the silliest of TIPAs – what better reason then to commission an all-Citra IPA to our brew plans? Captivated Under is a love letter to everything we love about one of our lifeblood hops – expect a punchbowl of primarily grapefruit and lime, with more subtle notes of tropical fruits, gooseberry and melon cascading along in the background.
