Our take on this classic style has big roasted barley flavor on the front end and balanced sweetness on the backend. Milk stout, sometimes called ‘cream’ or ‘sweet’ stout, is a stout containing lactose, a sugar derived from milk. Lactose is unfermentable by beer yeast, so it adds sweetness and body to the finished beer.

Can, 473ml, from The Beers of America. Drank at home on 13th October 2024. Poured (twice) into my Gordon's thistle shaped glass, it looked good. Almost Jet black in colour, lightly tanned crown that turned to a wisp and collar pretty swiftly on each pour. Milk chocolate and semi-sweet molasses ruled the flavours, nice smooth malty feel to the brew.
