Nadia Kali is an inspired Saison with cross-cultural influence. Nadia’s ruby pink glow comes from, a generous infusion of hibiscus, whole ginger root gives it a subtle spice a hint of woodsy maturity, and lemon peel adds a citrus tastiness to keep you on your toes. Full of complexity and intrigue, this unfiltered beauty will show you how deceiving looks can be.

Tulip at the Barrel Bar - lightly hazy copper - I’ve several hibiscus saisons, none of which have been all that good - the hibiscus always tends to be overdone, kind of souring up the beer - here at least the hibiscus does not overpower, but the additional inclusion of ginger and lemon peel makes it over spiced - the spices wash out any character imparted by the saison yeast, which is a damn shame - kind of refreshing, at least.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/11/2016. Pours hazy reddish orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, berry, pear, apple, ginger, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/hibiscus/ginger, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, berry, pear, apple, ginger, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light hibiscus tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, berry, pear, apple, ginger, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/hibiscus/ginger, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a great spiced saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/hibiscus/ginger, and pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at the PIB. Pours a clear reddish color with a medium white head. A nice fruity nose, spicy floral notes. Husky hay flavors, floral sweet elements, some tropical fruit. Quite nice.

On tap at PIB 2016, pours a cloudy peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out light Belgian yeast and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out lots of hibiscus upfront, followed by ginger and Belgian yeast. Quite spicy, with a lightly sweet and yeasty finish. Solid.
