Nadia Kali is an inspired Saison with cross-cultural influence. Nadia’s ruby pink glow comes from, a generous infusion of hibiscus, whole ginger root gives it a subtle spice a hint of woodsy maturity, and lemon peel adds a citrus tastiness to keep you on your toes. Full of complexity and intrigue, this unfiltered beauty will show you how deceiving looks can be.

Sample at Tuscany Liquors. Pours an unclear, slightly purplish color, with a small, beige head. Good floral notes, with some cloves, light raspberries, and caramel. Sweet and floral flavor, with very little bitterness. Light to medium body, with a smooth feel and a crisp finish. Pretty nice.

12oz bottle. Red copper body. No real lasting head. Pretty unimpressive beer. The underlying Saison is suspect in the first place, lots of unpleasant tones that I don't attribute to the Hibiscus, which adds its own odd mineral/cough syrup offness. Almost drinks like a Winter Warmer, with the hibiscus filling in for the amber malt and the ginger giving it a mild spicy edge. Not that good, very generous 3.

12 oz Tulip draft at Waldo Pizza in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a clear golden ruby with a minimal white head. The aroma is big floral hibiscus, some citrus, hint of the ginger, and earthy malt grain under the floral. The taste is the hibiscus up front, through the middle and in the lingering finish. Around the edges of the floral, notes of spice, earth, ginger and a bit of citrus. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation and the hibiscus earth finish. I like hibiscus, and this beer used it well.

Pour is a red-pink with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is very floral and I do get a lot of lemon peel but not much ginger. Flavor is again a very floral with more of the ginger present. The lemon peel comes after the swallow to clean the palate. More of a fruit beer than a saison as I did not get much of a farmhouse feel with this. It was tasty though all the additions balanced each other out.

Bottle. Hibiscus, light ginger, biscuit malt, and hay aroma. Hazy dark amber with small head. Moderately sweet hibiscus, ginger, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Pleasant.

Bottle: Hazy amber with a short, off-white head. Lemon, hibiscus aroma. Taste is spicy yeast, citrus, hibiscus.....the ginger works pretty well with the other elements in this one... Tingly and nicely bodied. Pretty good.
