Deep dark brown colour with a ruby hue, small frothy tan head, completely diminishing, no lacing. Aroma roasted malt, cocoa, faint dark fruits, light licorice. Mild taste, medium sweet and light bitter, roasted malt, chocolate,
sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, ashy notes. Medium body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation, nice stout.

Thuis uit een fles (halve liter). Mooi zwart, weinig schuim. In aroma chocolade. Smaak helaas wat slap, maar al met al gezien de 4,5% een redelijke stout.

Cask @ Salopian, the pub. Pours dark cream coloured head. Milk chocolate, roast on the nose. Taste is smooth, good chocolate presence, a touch creamy with underlying woody roast and espresso lingering lightly on the finish. Medium bodied. Good chocolatey stout.

Cask-conditioned at Gloucester Beer Festival, 31/3/2017. Near black in colour, with a thin, beige, head. Toasted malt and leafy hop aroma, with plenty of chocolate and liquorice in the background. Flavour had dark berry fruits, plain chocolate and more roasted malts, before a dryish finish. Very good, it was easy to understand why this was the first beer to run out at the festival.
