The 5th Fulton and Wood beer of 2023 is brewed in honor of Engine Company 21. This Company was the first group of Black fire fighters in the Chicago Fire Department and they are also credited with being the first fire fighters to use a firepole in a Firehouse. This beer has a gentle smoke note and a present sweetness that makes for an ideal autumn pint.

Fulton draught, 11/30/23. Clear, light-to-medium amber. Dark beige head to spotty cover. Woodsmoke, earth, crusty bread and pepper give a good aroma, with balanced beer and smoke character (yeast and malt). Light fruity, clean. Soft, malty, fruity, bready (lightly) with plentiful cherry-like character. Easygoing, medium-light-bodied, dry. Some crystal character on the finish. Low smoke in the flavor.
