We brew Deciduous each year to welcome the return of Autumn and celebrate New England's changing foliage and dynamic climate. This Hoppy Pale Rice Lager evolves with every iteration — this year, we envisioned a modern take on the crisp, snappy, rice lager. It's brewed with Pilsner malt and flaked rice in the grain bill and features a blend of Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin in the dry hop. Showcasing southern hemisphere tropical fruity aromas and flavors, Deciduous is easy-drinking with gentle notes of citrus and white grape. Fun Fact: previous versions of Deciduous have included a Double IPA, a Munich Dunkel, and a Strong Ale with Vanilla, Cacao, and Fig!

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, straw color, with a big, foamy, white head. The nose is straw, lavender, corn, and mild pine. Sweet and faintly malty, with a mild, noble bitterness. Light, crisp, and a bit sticky. Easy and tasty.

Pours clear gold into a nonic. Bright white head with good retention turns soapy and recedes leaving gloppy lacing. Rice and lemon aromas. Crisp with sweet rice and hay upfront turning to bitter apple in the dry, lasting finish.

Pours a straw from a tap. Big malt and onion cracker aroma and flavor. A little off balance. Good beer.

Sampled from the tap at the Fort Point location. Pours a clear pale yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has lots of hay with a bit of crisp grass, a hint of light grape and straw underlying. Flavor has lots of hay with some earthy grass, straw and a light leafy note in the finish.

Wow, if this is a rice lager, then sign me up. Tastes like a dose of big Nelson. Amazing beer. Pours clear golden with good head and lacing. Finishes super crisp. Like a Nelson Czech pilsner or something. Tap at Snally.

Canton draught, 10/18/23. Clear brass-golden. Large, white head, good retention. Very hoppy with lots of mineral and white wine character. No pine or resin. Some crackery malts and more mineral on the end. Clean. Massive guava-mango-kiwi-melon with white wine and mineral galore. Chewy rice and biscuity malt body is full and round. Strong bitterness throughout and a finishing watermelon-like flavor. Well, this is extremely surprising and incredible. Tastes like Tree House. Pretty aggressive bitterness and maltiness but it sure is flavorful.

Can’t resist new rice lager. Clear and bright golden with white head of medium proportions. Nose is citrus and grass. Tastes of lemon, honey dew, grass, white chardonnay grapes, lime zest. Dry palate.
