12oz can drunk 9/23/23. Clear dark bronze-copper-amber. Dark beige head slowly to ring. Nose is lovely, vegetal, lightly spicy, very agave-like notes with maybe an afterthought of soft smoke from mezcal. Vanilla and mild oak from barrel balance the rich caramel-honey character from base malt. Clean, not boozey. Soft, rich, sweet, huge vanilla and mellow toffee-caramel with excellent, not sharp mezcal and tequila notes. Really impressed how the barrel character comes out without being sharp or hot. It's very rich, chewy/syrupy and sweet, but the flavors are excellent and somewhat mitigated by barrel, though it still ends tending quite sweet with huge maple-vanilla-tequila-caramel notes.
