Nonna's Cookies is a new Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, brewed in collaboration with Vitamin Sea Brewing (Weymouth, MA). Inspired by cookies made by Dino (The owner of Vitamin Sea) and JC's families, Nonna's Cookies is conditioned on a blend of almond, cacao, and vanilla; notes of milk chocolate and toasted nut take the lead with undertones of charred raisin rounded out by a full, thick body with a moderate sweetness.

Bottle from Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured almost black in colour with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is roasty, herbal, sweet biscuit caramel. The flavour is over moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a sugary, toffee, cookie dough, warm boozy, alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation . Big, smooth, rich and nicely balanced.

500mL bottled 11/21/23, drunk 6/1/24. Clear dark auburn, syrupy. No head. Smells like a breath of fresh air following the Southward series. Big nutty almond character, tons of milk chocolate and lighter on the barrel, though it doesn't seem unbalancedly sweet as a result. No booze, not much lactose. Bitter almond paste, reasonable attenuation and some spicy, robust bourbon. Good body, with dark chocolate and light roast. Not excessively sugary, but still on the sweeter side. Was worried about the lactose in it, which usually ages poorly, but this still needs another six months or so.
