This Märzen is a collaboration with HVG, an organization that provides premium hop products from Germany. HVG helped us hand select the best hops to complement this rich malty style traditionally brewed in the spring and lagered over the summer.

4 pack at home. First brew wasn’t my favorite but by the third I’m enjoying more and more. Clear amber and large frothy head. Nose caramel and peppery. Tastes the same some cardboard and red grapes. Light bodied and dry.

Brewery draught, 4/5/24. Clear amber. Small, light-beige head to ring quickly. Hints of sourdough and gently herbal hops. Less malty than traditional marzens. Light sourdough and zippy herbal hops with moderate, peppery bitterness. Very light body, no residual malt. If this is a modern Märzen then I'm sticking to traditional ones. Sorely lacking in malt depth and the hops show soap and pepper.
