Brighton draught, 3/21/24. Clear amber. Small, beige head sits at light cover. Heavy bread, moderate bitterness and heavy toast. Almost a sharp, light glue-like character. Probably just the malt but regardless, I don't think it works well. Heavy toast. Bready, bitter. Some supporting caramel with that odd, pervasive glue character. Bitter, not that flavorful, but dry, at least. Though actually as it warms, there's a fruit-laced maltiness that is quite compelling. I guess it does end up being balanced. And that heavily peppery bitterness is great, properly balanced by the malt.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Mocha head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Dark caramel and toasted raisin bread aromas. Soft with sweet molasses, dried pit fruit and golden syrup front to back. Lasting bitter earthy bark finish. Tasty.
