Late season harvests on the farm are always a bit of a surprise - you never know what you may get. For this installment of our mixed culture Farm Series though, we decided to highlight a fall crop that you can always count on; all the berries! Fall features a blend of beer fermented in our oak foeders and beer that spent time in a mix of both red and white wine barrels. This blend was then conditioned on 300lbs of blackerries, blueberries, and raspberries, resulting in a beer that captures the perfect magic of any late season harvest.

500mL from the brewery, 2023 vintage, drunk 3/6/24. Clear, bright cherry-blackberry. Small, pinkish head, quickly to ring. Lovely fruit in the nose is front and center showing rich cherry-blackberry character with modest acidity and low sugar. A bit harder to get at the beer behind the fruit, but it seems like mellow oak, light malt (biscuit, white bread) and low culture character (dont really get brett or lacto). But very clean and fruity overall. Fairly malty in the mouth with soft wood tannin, white bread/honey and light biscuit. Good depth, good attenuation with bright berry-like acidity and juicy, fruity flavors. Some moderate lactic acidity lingering alongside chewy oak and malt. I like the balance here and there's no excess of acidity or tannin from anything.
