Ideal Wave is our interpretation of an IPA that Other Half Brewing (Brooklyn, NY) introduced in early 2021, that we're brewing as part of OH's 10th Anniversary celebration. Brewed with a blend of Citra, Mosaic, Motueka, and Nelson Sauvin hops, Ideal Wave leads with a nose of lychee, sweet orange, and lime zest with a medium body, a light sweetness, and a light-to-medium bitterness

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: muddy orange to brown cloudiness with a finger and a quarter of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: lychee, melon, lime/mixed citrusy zest, subtle danky pine then a little bit of grapefruity/pineapple-y/mango-like hoppy middle with some super light clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine juicy sweet to bittersweet quality; finishes leaning into the melon to noted tropical mix
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, clean smoothness, nice low carb, low hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: pretty nicely done NEIPA worthy of coming back to.

Fort Point draught, 2/23/23/4. Moderately hazy, blonde-brass-golden. Small, creamy, white head. Never had the OH version, but the hop varieties are nice on paper. Nice mix of sweat, funk, mineral, spice, tropical and light citrus. Moderately juicy, some unripe tropical fruit in there too. Cracker and honey-like malts support gently. Clean, no resin or booze. Soft honey with pithy citrus leading to biscuity malt and high attenuation and a bit of an underwhelming body. For all the potential with the hops here, it's pretty muddled and muted. Spice, citrus, earth, blandness. Pretty scant malt depth.

Pours hazy light gold into a nonic. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Very light peach and apricot aromas. Soft with peach and apricot upfront turning to lychee and melon in the dry, medium length finish.
