The unique casks used for Coffee Maple Medianoche began as Heaven Hill® 10-12 year-old bourbon barrels and were then used to age Vermont maple syrup for over a year, which were filled with Medianoche immediately after the maple syrup was emptied. After 17 months in the maple syrup bourbon barrels, we commissioned the talented folks at Mostra Coffee to design a blend specific for this beer. They landed on a mix of their Brazil Oberon and El Salvador “El Isidro” beans, which were roasted a touch longer to develop more sweetness and a gentle acidity, lending notes of dark chocolate, almond, toffee, & hints of tangerine. The complex coffee character layers perfectly with the rich caramel, brown sugar, honey, vanilla, & subtle citrus character imparted from the barrels, all of which are complemented by the lavish maple sweetness.

Bottle shared. Batch 1 - 2020. Opaque pitch black color, no head. Aroma is heavy coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is malts, dark malts, dark chocolate, some maple and espresso with soft roast. Firm bitterness. Thick viscous texture. Very nice. 8-9,5-9,5-8-9

Draught at tip tap, 12/16/23. 10.8% Dark. No head. Soy, oxidation, fudge, light bourbon spice. Soy, oxidation, chewy and chocolatey with excellent attenuation. Light barrel. No adjunct. Don't think this is really maple coffee, but who knows. It's a well-done version, at least.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan ring of a head. Nose is sweet malts big coffee maple syrup big bourbon barrel. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate bourbon barrel booze vanilla huge coffee.
