Our interpretation of the traditional Czech style showcases dark, roasty malt character with luscious notes of caramel, rye toast, and roasted nuts. This midnight-colored Lager is exceptionally drinkable, balancing complex dark beer flavor with a crisp finish.

Can at home watching Weapons. Chestnut brown pour and frothy head. Nose is nutty and bready. Tastes of rye, cola, nutty, malt. Ok palate. Dry.

CX draught, 12/6/24. Clear dark cola-maple. Small, beige head, slowly to cover. A bit beany, with fruity coffee notes, earth, toast and scant base malt. Spicy and herbal hops accentuations. Clean, crisp, mildly hoppy with no real dark malt presence but just a shade less malt depth than I'd like. But the crisp yeast and hop on the finish goes a long way. Good attenuation. Very clean.

Pours deep garnet into a stein. Mocha head with good retention pancakes and recedes leaving spot lacing. Brown bread and dark pit fruit aromas. Crisp with sweet raisin bread, dark pit fruit and dry tree bark front to back. Lasting multi-grain sourdough finish. Becomes a little cloying as it warms.
