The Prodigal Haze Part VI continues our exploration of intense hop character, combining the beloved Citra and Nelson hops with Peacharine and Lotus for a unique flavor journey. Brewed with a focus on low whirlpool temperatures and massive whirlpool additions, this iteration brings forth a delicate balance of vibrant tropical fruit, sweet peach, and bright citrus, underpinned by the unique complexity of Lotus hops.

Pouring a super pale yellow, akin to Part V, this hazy beauty is a feast for the eyes and palate The interplay of tropical and stone fruit flavors unfolds with each sip, offering layers of peach, juicy orange, and a touch of vanilla-like floral notes. Continued yeast tinkering adds subtle depth to the overall profile, enhancing the soft finish without overpowering hop-forward characteristics.

As with every Prodigal Haze release, the experience remains as enticing at the last sip as it does at the first.

Canned 9/26/2024; consumed 10/30/2024. Cloudy/murky medium orange sherbet/creamsicle body, medium dense yellowish cream head. Aroma orange rind, melon, and catty notes. Creamy body with big melon; also peach, lychee, and candy, this balanced by green rindy hops and a bitter aftertaste. Moderate sweetness.

Charlton draught, 10/10/24. Milky, turbid. Creamy, white head, slowly to clumpy cover. Spicy notes of lemongrass and light pine initially. Not getting as much round juiciness or rich spiciness, just more of the piney, floral type. But it's clean, polished, showing well-attenuated malts adding gentle biscuit and cracker with no booze and ample mineral. Juicy, with an almost cinnamon-like or potpourri-like flavor lingering. Really nice balance of malt and bitterness. Dry spice, floral, but with enough malt softness and lower bitterness to balance things. Excellent Nelson character with chalky mineral, deep spice and mild white grape. Really appreciate how well-constructed it is. No booze, excess maltiness, resin, unbalanced edges.

Pours a hazy, chalky lemon-gold, with big, lasting head. Aroma is bright, juicy citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors follow. Soft mouthfeel. Moderate hop bitterness through the finish. Very good.
