Canned 7/7/23, drunk 7/28/24. Clear, bright, burnished brass-golden. Very large, off-white head, well-retained. Nose is incredibly fruity with a strong but not too punchy lacto backbone. Lightly vinous, a touch earthy, musty, cellar-like. Rustic grains. Tart, vivacious and malty with a great rusticity and lip-smacking but not overdone or punchy acidity on the finish. Seems the age has done it well, as it's mellow, malty and very fruity with just enough tartness and a good dryness and balance. All that said, this isn't barrel-aged and thus you still get a bit of powdered sugar-like quality that is common in kettle sours.
