Out of this yearning for the old ways, Dark Age Imperial Stout emerges from the whisky barrel, its dark malt complexity and bold, yet balanced, sweetness softened by its mystical evolution in oak.

12.7 ounce bottle. 12% ABV. Bottled on 10/17/2017. Opaque dark brown color. Small creamy tan ring. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Notes of whiskey, oak and chocolate. Flavor is rather subdued. Dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, oak and vanilla flavors are all there. But the flavors seem diminished. For a brew that is more than seven years old, this is pretty tasty.

Bottled in 2017, 12.% ABV. Almost black. Caramel, malt syrup, vanilla and bourbon in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, vanilla, bourbon, toffee, soft roast, coffee. Has matured nicely.
