Mandarina Bavaria hops are Germany’s answer to the bold, vivacious US varieties found in West Coast-style brews. This hop is the daughter of Cascade and Hallertau, combining characteristic New World citrus flavors and aromas with the subtle spice of German noble hops.
We blended our wine barrel-aged sour blonde ale with foeder-fermented brett saison to craft a complex base of stone fruit, oak, and earthy funk to compliment the tangerine and lime-like character of Mandarina. Each sip teases a new flavor, from grass to grapefruit to peaches and finishes crisp and dry.

Bottle 375ml. @ The Chris and Ruth's House, London. [ As Almanac Hoppy Sour: Mandarina ].Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy, orange - mandarine, sour orange - mandarine, tart orange - mandarine, funky. Flavor is moderate sweet and acidic with a long duration, tart, sour, dry, funky, mandarine, orange. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20160808] 8-3-8-3-16

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has a fine minerally crispness. A light tartness, so we are off to a good start! Nice winey tang blends well with mildly sour orange. Touch of orange sherbet on the light finish. Nice one.

Bottle shared with rlgk, fonefan, ChrisO and beerhunter111. Slightly unclear pale yellow color, average sized white head. Aroma is sourish with sweet floral and sweet fruity hints. Taste sour, unripe fruits. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Decent beer.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours hazy pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of orange, mandarin for sure. Sour funk. Taste is mandarin, white wine, sharp, grapes. Dry finish. Nice.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden and hazy with thin head that hangs around quite well. Nose - apricots and a nice dry yeasty backdrop. Taste - canned mandarins and a long dry yeasty note that cones back withmore dried oranges. Palate - close to medium bodied with a lean tangy texture and a long dry lean tangy finish. Overall - beautiful body!
