True to style, an intensly roasty and hoppy stout with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. A great beer for these cold winter days...

Deep dark brown coloured body with a lighter cola coloured tint when held up to a light, on an angle, but all with a very thin, perhaps single centimetre tall lighter brown head. Aroma of chocolate, brownies, figs, roasted malt, lightly earthy sugars, some treacle, a touch of raisins and pit fruits and a dose of tobacco and grain near the end that adds to the earthy scents. Light to perhaps Medium-bodied; Relatively thin (the age did this?) body with a grainy, malty flavour with some pitted fruits, a dose of stone fruits, some raisins and figs and a hint of bitterness from metal and grain. Aftertaste shows the robust malt notes with peanuts, pecans, grain and a good deal of yeast still on the finish. Overall, a relatively nice and straight forward stout with some more mellow flavours, but a very easy-to-drink profile makes this nice - but so does 2,5 YEARS aging on a beer that really doesn't need it, and perhaps even takes something away. Nice to try and if you still have one of these, drink it now perhaps or wait several more years and compare it against my notes! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 03-May-2015 for US$6,99 when my second daughter was just 4 months old, but sampled it 3,5 years later on 11-November-2018 when that same girl is almost four and she has a brother who is already a year old, at our house here in Washington [on the other end of the country].

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had some good roasty coffee beans to chocolate nibs. Nice robust clean malts. Subtle grassy hops.
The flavor brings together the same aromas sweet and roasty with a mild bitterness, nice and clean with a smooth roasty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Soft carbonation. ABV feels good.
Overall, good stout worthy of having again.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate with dark malt and some earthy? hop. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is mixed chocolates with smooth burnt/toasty malt and some sort of hop bitter. Tingles on the tongue edges. This might qualify for IS! It’s pretty tasty, finishing towards dark/milk chocolate, but also trying to be dry. Drinks nice!
