Appearance’s decent with loads of lace, fairly long lasting head, but a color that’s more red amber. Flavor’s on the balanced side with plenty of malt to stand up to the bold hops. Great body and finish. Very drinkable for its strength.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a red brown color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart and rather bitter with notes of pine, citrus, a bit of malty and a touch boozy. The flavor was tangy and sweetish yet fairly bitter with pine, grapefruit, black pepper, honey, caramel and malt syrup with a boozy undertone. Medium length sweet piney finish. Moderately full bodied. Pleasant.

Tap at Maduro pre GTMW 2014. Really clean for the style. Well executed. Amber copper, filtered body. Well balanced. Some solid NW hops. Really good beer.

Keg at Beer Run, 10/3/14. Slightly hazy copper with a thin creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, citrus, candied fruit, pithy finish. The taste is citrus, berries, toffee, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness. 200th American Strong Ale rating!
