From old tasting notes. Copper red color topped by a thick bubbly beige head. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor has an intense maltiness offset by a big spicy hop finish. Long bitter aftertaste.

Notes from the file last updated in 2010. Poured brown with beige head. Malty aroma. Tastes of dark malt and dark fruit.

Brown hazy pour with a big off white head that falls quickly. Rich malt aroma. The flavor is a little less malty than the aroma would have you expect and the body is a bit thin, but this has a nice finish and could have been much worse. Gets better as the glass empties.

Paid $7.99 for a 6-pack. Dark amber with a big frothy head. Sweet, malty alcohol in the nose. Raisens and chocolate too maybe. A bit malty, with hints of chocolate... but really rather tame and plain. This was recommended to me by the guy at the beer store (even though I was gonna try it anyway), but I have to say, it's rather plain/ordianry, without any hints of it being a beer of its own.

Red-brown, clear body with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Classic doppelbock aroma- strong caramel, with raisins, prune, and a hint of toffee. However, the flavor was not as potent- very light and caramely, with hints of raisin. Unremarkable in a field of so many fine examples.

Not really up there with the better seasonals I have tried but not bad either. Dark copper color with minimal head and lace. Caramel and malt aroma. Flavor seemed unbalanced but it evened out as it warmed. Rich maltiness but seemed to have a watery fruit finish.
