Bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colored. Aroma is a light fragrance with too much of a boozy smell. Taste was slightly sweet with a bitter aftertaste.

500 ml bottle from Imbibe Wine. Nose is caramelized sugar and raisins. Murky amber with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of bitter and bready notes.

50cl bottle pours with a crystal clear amber to ruby red body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up sweet brown sugar dusted figs, prunes, dates and a bit of ripe cherries. The taste is smooth and sweet and prune juice like and then it slides into a semi dry finish. It has the same fruity and sweet notes as noted in the nose with dates and cherries and brown sugar. Pretty nice sipper.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark copper with a beige head. Aroma is mostly brown sugar. Med + body. Flavor is malty, brown sugar - something hard to pin down. Wood! That’s it! More towards brown sugary barley wine than a doppelbock? Unusual, but pretty tasty.
