With the same base beer as our ‘Into The Woods’ series, this non-barrel variant has been matured with the addition of Canadian maple, adding woody, caramelised sweet notes. A rare variant, this hasn’t yet been seen in the wild. Cask only.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, dark, chestnut brown. Fine froth of pale tan head. Nose has maple syrup. Coffee truffle. Rum truffle. Caramel. Vanilla. Could be mistaken for a BA job. Taste is super sweet, with a light, coffee, roast malt bitterness. Rich and sticky mouthfeel. No real trace of the hefty ABV, though, other than some warmth. Low carbonation. Sticky toffee pudding in a glass. Great stuff.

On cask at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - so boozy. Prunes in armagnac or just straight armagnac. Taste - luscious honey and toffee and booze. Sweet dark chocolate too. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture. Booozy sweet finish. Overall - if you're here you've done well previous so time to indulge in the digestif!
