Bottle. Mahogany brown beer with a tan head. Chocolate and malt aroma. Malt and nutty flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Nutty malt and light caramel linger with backing cocoa.

Bottle, in Sacramento. Dark brown colour. Nutty and caramelly aroma and flavour, moderate hops. Brown ales are not my favourite style, but this one was nice enough to drink.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours nearly black with a creamy/foamy 4 finger light tan head. Light chocolate and malt aroma. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is malty, somewhat nutty and chocolatey. Finishes not very bitter and moving towards dry. Nice.
