His name is Matt Vandenberghe and he created a sweet peach tea drink using Eagle Rare Bourbon as the base spirit. Tomme had a chance to taste these magical drinks during Seattle Beer Week a few years ago and has been looking at recreating this cocktail in beer.
The base beer is our famous Angel’s Share that we aged in fresh Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 9 months. To this we added some awesome whole peach slivers and a splash of Brettanomyces Clausenni to ferment the peaches. The beer has a great peach nose and a long carmelized bourbon finish. One of the most experimental of all the track series.

Bottle, generously shared by Kenny at the BIG Friday tasting. It has what appears to be CGarvie on the bottle! It pours murky deep brown with a minimal head. The nose is toasty, caramel, wood, toffee, vanilla, coconut and jammy berry. The taste is toasty, caramel, tangy dark fruit, vanilla, toffee, light tartness, chocolate, jam and warming alcohol. Full body and fine carbonation. Enjoyable musical-beer pairing.

Bottle shared during the Track Set segment of the Big Tasting in London. Paired well. Thanks to Ken. Pours murky amber with a wimpy off-white head. The nose has rich, lightly toasted malts, toffee, ripe fruits, figs. Medium sweet flavor with tangy berries, some brown sugar, caramel, dates. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with toffee, brown sugar, dried and tangy berries, faint leather and spices, fruit cake. Good stuff. Novel music pairing.

Bottle, 375ml, at the Lost Abbey pre-party. Unclear brown body and a minimal sized light tan head. Brett notes, alcohol, prunes, caramel notes, roasted hints, oak notes and some faint chocolate scents in the aroma. The Brett disappearing quickly. Creamy and warming on the palate, full bodied. Lots of good flavors going on, all blending nicely. Long, warming and tasteful finish. Yet another wonderful blend. 130817

Bottle @ The Lost Tasting Of Abbey Beers, Odense 2013. Chestnut with a small off-white head. Aroma a bit simplistic (compared to the rest of the set) with lots of bourbon, along with malty and fruity notes. Sweet fruity flavour with malt, bourbon and rum.

Bottle pours with a hazy amber body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth blended tart to vinegar notes and then toward vibrant yet smooth sweet bourbon. The taste starts very bourbon-y but sweetened with malts and some molasses. Well off in the background I’m getting a faint almost non-tart like vinegar tartness. Hmm . Interesting

Bottle at the brewery. Pours with a hazed brown body with a small tan head. Aromas are spicy, barrel, fruity, tobacco, brandy, leather, dark fruits, boozy, peaches, almonds. Very complex aromas. Flavors are very tannic, boozy, tea like, fruity. Not a big improvement on the base beer, but really good. Mild peachy and estery character, complex fruity and slightly funky notes. Medium carbonation, warming, rich, tannic. Good!

At a Lost Abbey Track tasting. Poured a dark cola color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some sweet dark fruits with a touch of overly sweet and malty notes. Meh. It was drinkable, but...
