Bottle from Oddbins. Appearance - hazy golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - citrus and a hint of tropical. Taste - oranges and again something tropical which I can’t quite decide upon. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - how do you make an amber ale more tasty? Make an APA and call it an amber ale. Good though!

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Oddbins Notting Hill. Pours unclear gold/deep gold with a creamy, off-white head. Lovely aroma, with a hint of piney dankness, some pale bread, ripening orange. Light-medium sweet flavour with sturdy pale malt base, traces of toasted sugar, gooey orange and tangerine, restrained piney bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with further bready sugars, some biscuit, tangerine meringue, low bitterness, faint white grape. Not as ’ambery’ as I would expect of the style - not a good or bad thing, I suppose. Could do with a bit more bitterness, though. Overall, enjoyable and drinkable stuff.
