Jopen Extra Stout is een typisch Nederlandse stout. De droge stout wordt qua karakter ook wel de espresso onder de bieren genoemd vanwege de gebrande bittere smaak. Net als in koffie en cacao.
De laatste Haarlemse brouwerijen, die begin 1900 nog actief waren, brouwden allen een extra stout. Jopen heeft deze bierstijl nieuw leven ingeblazen. De Nederlandse stout bevat tussen de 5 en 6% alcohol.

Almost black, creamy beige head. Bit grassy on the nose. Roasted malts, bit ashy, touch of dried fruits, Medium mouth, mainly biytter, with a kick of sweet and sour, dry and bitter finish. Bit too light for me, but very drinkable.

donker bruin tot zwart, helder met schuimige bruine kraag aroma van chocolade, espresso, koffie en zoet smaken: matig tot redelijk zoet, zwaar bitter, zeer sterk, expresso, donkere bittere chocolade medium body, romig in de mond, laag co2, afdronk en indruk waren wat te bitter, en ietwat te lichte body.

Znakomity wytrawny Stout, przypomina w kazdym calu irlandzkiego Guinnessa. Piana wielka, czapowata i utrzymuje sie do konca picia. Kolor Czarny, prawie nie przepuszczajacy mocnego swiatla. Smak i zapach czekoladowy, troche kawy. W smaku to juz istny deser gozkiej czekolady. Finisz bardzo wytrawny i goryczka jest zaznaczona na dlugi czas.

Bottle from a friend, thanks Peter. Dark chestnut color with small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, syrup, caramel, milk chocolate. Roasted malt, coffee, caramel, dark chocolate. Coffee bitter finish. Tasty.
