Bomber from Harry & David in Medford, OR. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Rich heavily roasted malt aroma. Med body. Foamy carb. Flavor is less than burnt, then suddenly pretty burnt malt. Hop? There’s enough burnt malt bitter. I’m thinking this is a shot at classic Guinness. Lots of moderately burnt malt in the finish, with less than significant chocolate. Drinks nice.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours black, shows faint red highlights when held up to the light. Has a dissipating smallish beige head. Smells sugary and roasted; fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Taste is mostly sweet; has a faintly dry bitter finish. Piney hops come out after a good belch. Carbonation is fairly soft, body is too thin. It’s decent, but nothing special.
