West Coast IPA.
Our homage to the classic West Coast IPA, pioneered in California and the style that revolutionised the modern beer world.
Bright golden in colour with a simple, clean malty body gives way to an explosion of piney, citrusy, tropical hop flavour and aroma from the Simcoe, Chinook, Centennial and Citra hops.

Can on 14th May 2022 from brewery. Pours a coppery amber with whitish foam and pattern lacing. Zesty peel in aroma and liquid, with a solid malt. Hazelnut notes. Tangy fruits and nuttiness in finish. Full-bodied with an engaging mouthfeel.

Keg at the Deal Taphouse, 04/02/22. Clear golden to light amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is bitter orange, grass, pine needle, caramel, grapefruit. Taste comprises orange peel, grapefruit, caramel malts, biscuit, light pine nip, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly juiced to grassy hop bitterness. Pulls of the WC bite fairly well.

A little juicier than I’d have expected. It’s still WCIPA and there’s some classic redness on the nose, but some citrus fruitiness as well. Not a ton of perceived bitterness at the end

Can from the Black Toad online shop. Appearance - golden and fairly bright. Slightly off-white and fairly proportioned head. Nose - orange, bread and just a hint of pine. Taste - no pine this time, mainly bread and orange. Palate - light to medium bodied. Not as bitter as expected for the style. Overall - enjoyable, if a little off style.
