Fles gekocht bij de taproom vorig jaar zomer. Zwarte body en een bruine kraag die snel inzakt tot een patch. Geurt naar geroosterde mout, iets rood fruit, donkere chocola. In de mond is dat ongeveer hetzelfde, al voert het fruit meer de boventoon. Smaak is zoetig, caramellig en chocola, met matige geroosterde bitterheid. Behoorlijk sterk alcohol gevoel. Medium body. Eindigt met donkere chocola en wat geroosterde mout. Tamelijk klassieke impy.

Bottle. Black beer with a tan head. Chocolate and spice aroma with light caramel. Chocolate and caramel flavor with light woodsiness. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate and caramel linger with light dark fruit and light woodsiness.

Dark brown, aroma of toffee, figs, dark sugars. Dark strong molasses character, burnt plum, that sort of thing, lots of alcohol and cask Old Peculier. This is a trip. Boozy, fruity, okay it'οΏ½s not a world beater but it does have character.

Bottle from the San Mateo brewpub to tulip glass. Pours black with brown head. Complex aroma of chocolate, moderate roast. Well rounded flavor is similar to aroma with rich malt, roast and chocolate.
