Bottle from local Delhaize. Hazy blond colour, white foam. Nose of banana, some citrus. Bitter and refreshing. Balance is ok. Not a bad tripel!

Bottle from the Delhaize supermarket in Wondelgem near Ghent. Thick, off-white, dense and moussy, stable head over a immediately cloudy peach blonde beer with ochre hue. Aroma of overripe peach, pineapple, mango, straw, flowers, powder sugar, sweetened apple juice, lemon zest, banana, earthy turnip and sourdough. Fruity, sweetish onset, white candi sugar on top of pineapple, gooseberry and light banana notes with a lightly sourish edge, soft carbo, ’fluffy’ and smooth mouthfeel, caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness with ongoing white candi sugar sweetness, a tad metallic, soft earthy bitterish accent in the end but nowhere near ’real’ hop bitter so that the sugary sweetness continues. Straightforward, sweet but technically correct tripel - once again.

330 ml. bottle from Delhaize. Very hazy bright citurs golden / orange with a big creamy white head. Nose is massive sweet white sugar & cabbage, very sweet white bread, some green paprika, cooked vegies, Brussels sprouts, all of those things are like covered in this low esters, big chemical white sugar BE sweetness, odd. Taste is like big overly sweet yeast, white bread, low green paprika, low plastic, dash cabbage, once again not your typical DMS-like profile or anything like that, just massively sweet artificial white sugar style, green elderflower, BE yeast, esters. Creamy, tad lively. Odd notes make it a bit too much for me, odd, if this were plain sweet, bit industrial, it would blend into legions of other beer, that stuff takes this one down for me but I can see people who dig beers like this one get into it. Bit of an unnecessary entry for me into the Belgian beer cannon but I can see people digging this. Just people other than me.

F: huge, white, medium lasting. C: golden, hazy, non-transparent. A: malt, grassy, floral hops, herbal, elderflower, DMS, yeast. T: malty, dough, grassy, honey, fruity, camomile, biscuits, medium to full body, cooked vegetables, interesting BSA, not bad, lively carbonation, 0,33l bottle from Färm organic shop in Brussels.
