Holiday Ale is a Biere de Noel, an offshoot of the Biere de Garde style. Traditionally this style was made by just a handful of small farmhouse breweries in France during the few weeks leading up to Christmas. It has a deep malt flavor with notes of treacle, toasted malt, and caramel. The malt character is accented by a mild herbal presence of French Strisselspalt and Aramis hops.

Can from the Advent Box Dark gold color with a thin off white head that slowly recedes. Earthy spicy hops and light yeasty notes against a rich toasty bready maltiness. Seemed a bit sweet imho but tasty,

From a can. Pours a clear cola with an off white head. Aromas are fruity with nuts, kind of like a fruit cake. Flavors are mostly sweet with a bit of bitterness in the finish.

12oz bottle. Pretty enjoyable Bierre de Garde, truer than I anticipated. Deep caramel malt tone. Smooth and true mouthfeel and tone. Mild spice tones perhaps, but well incorporated. Good stuff.

Orange, caramel malt and fresh hay/grass aroma. Dark amber with large light tan head. Moderately sweet cherry/orange, light cinnamon, caramel malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Very nice.

Pours deep reddish copper with a frothy white head. Aroma of nondescript malt. Taste has caramel, sweet malt, mildly nutty, spruce/evergreen, slightly boozy. Palate has evergreen note on nose, caramelized malt. Interesting.

Draught @ Sugarburg (1/21/20). Clear copper-amber with creamy beige head, faint spicy caramel aroma, low carbonation, mildly sweet caramel taste with spices (cloves, nutmeg), smooth body, long spicy sweet finish. Very easy to drink.
