Bomber from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big citrus hops and caramel malts. The taste is pithy citrus, faint caramel malts and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with a slight lingering bitterness. Solid IPA.

From the 6/2012 3R6P tasting +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left ok lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy caramel, honey, grapefruit and pine. The flavor was bitter and dryish caramel, nut, pine, grapefruit, peach and a touch of pepper. The finish was long, tangy and sour with lingering caramel, pine and grapefruit. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

22oz bomber pours crystal clear copper with slightly loose light tan head. The modest aroma offers up an earthy sort of citrus, tart smelling grapefruit and a touch of caramel maltiness. The taste begins with malt sweetened clementines and then some grapefruit tartness mixing with more sweet malts and caramel maltiness. Overall an OK IPA with below average carbonation and a little bit on the sweet and caramel side rather than hoppy.

Copper body with an off-white head. The aroma is a well balanced and has notes of toasted malt and flowery hops. The flavor is well balanced but definitely towards the bitter side. Long dry bitter finish. Not too bad.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours copper with very little head. Aromas of floral and fruit. Med body. Flavor is floral and fruit over a little caramel. Intense hop flavors - but not harsh. Nice.

Bottle. Pours with a completely clear golden to lightly copper hued body and a large, somewhat tight, just off-white head with decent retention. Aromas are of sticky caramel/toffee, light pine, resin, caramel, lightly herbal and overripe fruity hop notes. A bit of caramelized canned pineapple. Flavors are pretty good. Some burnt caramel notes (flan), lightly grainy, sawdust. Hop flavors show resin, tangerine, bitter grapefruit pith. Quite bitter, with an overall bitter balance. Minimal esters. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Kind of warming for the ABV. Pretty decent offering, not mind blowing, but certainly a solid IPA from a young brewery. Feels very traditional in its hopping (kind of a throwback IPA if you will).
