Trader Joe’s, DC 500ml ($3.50): Pours a not very dark colour at all with a crappy looking head. Aroma is malty. Taste is bland, but in honesty, this was better than I expected that it would be. Fortunately, this was not too sweet. Pretty mellow. But, bland and contrived. The bottle might be the most positive thing about this brew.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Mineral and malt aroma. Mineral and malt flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Mineral and malt lingers with light caramel and light spice.

Swingtop from Trader Joes in Davis, CA. Opens with a big pop. Pours copper with a 3 finger foamy beige head. Aroma of roast malt and noble hop. Med body. Flavor is a bit nutty, with roast malt and some grassy hop. It’s just a bit sweet, but there seems to be enough hop to cut that to a minimum. It drinks really well.
