Bottle 330ml. @ The Shnoodlepip, London. [ As London Beer Lab 6 Grain Porter ].Clear dark black brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dark malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark malt, roasted, coffee, sharp. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170417] 7-4-7-3-14

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the Lab. Opens with a hiss. Very flow gusher. Pours black-brown with a billowing, foamy beige head. Burnt grains in the nose, some ashy roast, cocoa, day-old coffee. Light sweet flavour with further ashy roast, scorched earth, woody dryness, tobacco, some dried berries. Light bodied with quite active carbonation. A little drying in the finish, with ever-so-slightly metallic notes, more dried berries, ash, baking cocoa. A little scattered but just about OK.
