Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bomber poured into a glass. Clear copper with small beige head. Aroma is Brett, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is Brett and off. I don’t know if this was off or if it was that different.

Super deep brown and muddied ruby body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head that leaves a nice lace on top. Aroma of super nice cherries, oak, alcohol, grain, vinegar, sour grapes and a bit of brett, all with way more alcohol and especially cherry notes on the finish - super nice smelling throughout. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malt flavour at first with a very musty, basementy flavour with a lot of grain and oaky flaours with way more cherry tartness and pungency than expected. Aftertaste shows an amazingly complex flavour of oak, vanilla, grain, cherries, wine, vinegar, brett, funk and tons of sour grapes and tart fruits. Overall, way more of a fruit beer, a wild ale or a belgian ale/belgian strong than anything else, especially a barley wine, but this beer IS really good, incredibly complex and hides the alcohol very well also. Definitely worth trying to find if you like any of the above styles and especially if you like cherry beers that have high alcohol contents that tastes like much less. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska on 01-October-2017 for US$9,49 sampled in my hotel room here in Omaha, Nebraska on 03-October-2017.

On tap at bocktown. First let me say that if this is near 14%, I’d shit. It’s tastes more like 6%. Darker with a foamy head. Sweeter aroma with a touch of wild in the olfactory. Head fades rapidly. Odd medicinal feel but not in yer face alky. Some spices are readily apparent. Pleasant warming sensations down the throat. Barely any co2. Leathery at times near the finish. Perhaps it gets a little difficult in the end. Could not drink 2 of these, fer sure. It would be nice to get a bottle of this and age it for 10 years.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a clear ruby hue with a small white head. A big sugary sweet candy nose. Banana, rich berries, toffee, light chocolate, somewhat phenolic, some prunes. Not getting any brett here, maybe a bit in the tail but not much. A big sweet sugary BW which is fine with me.
