12 ounce bottle from Hy Vee Madison. Hazy amber, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of floral and resiny hops, toasted malt. The taste is toasted malt, resin, floral hops. Hints of tropical fruit. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Solid.

Tap at Sidedoor. Classic filtered copper orange body. Foamy beige head. It doesn’t quite nail it, but it clearly uses a good amount of hops which impart a nice grassy, garlic tone. The malts are a little flat, caramelly, 90s brewpub feel. Overall this is a better IPA than Lake Louie was making before...but the thick buttery malts really bring it down. Losing the battle against diacetyl for awhile at LL...
