Bottle from Lee Discount Liquor, Las Vegas
Black color with medium-small head. The roasted malt and bread aroma is nice, with creamy tones. Good body strength, lean mouthfeel; the roasted malt is dominating, but there is some dark chocolate too, a bit spicy, some ashes in the end, impression of ancho chili.
Very nice.

On tap at Mohawk Bend, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, oats, and a bit of chocolate. Flavour of chocolate, roasted malts, and some lingering hops. Full-bodied and smooth because of the nitro. Quite roasty and hoppy.

Opaque black beer, good tan head. Smooth palate but with fine carbonation.Rich dark malt with mild roast and mild bitterness. Coffee. Trace of hops coming through in the finish which is semi dry. Bitter roast malt and hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Trace of dark chocolate. Quite drinkable but a little rough round the edges.

Bottle. Pours with a dark brown hued body with lightly reddish highlights. Some clarity. Oddly light for an RIS. Medium to large tan head lasts and leaves some lace. Aromas are malt forward: nutty, bready, biscuit, lightly earthy, low roast, chocolate, baked breads, very low dark fruit character. Hop aroma is low, lightly earthy, medium toasted character. Overall malty balance. Flavors are roasted, burnt malt character, lightly nutty, medium alcohol. Lasting tar like through the duration. Some bitterness (which seems to come equally from the malt as well as the hops), low dark fruit character, bitter balance, relatively dry. Light astringency, medium full bodied, lightly creamy, but not very full or velvety. Light warmth, on the drier edge of the Imperial Stout spectrum. Moderate carbonation.

Sample on Day 2 of the Aces & Ales Strong Beer Festival on 08/13/2011. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes to an outer ring eventually. Rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt and hops. Full body with a roasty malt character and notes of dark fruit, coffee and slightly astringent hops. The finish is hoppy at first with a short grainy malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bomber from Beer Revolution. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma is milkish chocolate with a hint of coffee. Full bodied. Tho it thins as the carb goes. Flavor is burnt malt bitter with some chocolate on the edges. Smells better than it tastes, perhaps, but it’s pretty good stuff. Chocolate gets stronger with time.
