On tap at the brewpub. Not one of my favorite styles. Pours clear dark brown with off-white head. Little lacing, medium body, low carbonation, resinous texture, and light pine aroma. Taste is light roasted malt and long pine bitter finish. Not a fan.

on tap-pours a rich tight retaining light brown head and black color. Aroma is resin, dark malt-roasty/chocolate. Taste is resin/earthy biting hops [lots of Chinook leaf, Northern Brewer, Cascade], dark malt-roaasty/burnt/chocolate.

On tap at the TBBC brewpub pouring up clear dark mahogany with deep garnet edges, full firm tan head and a nice level of sheet lacing. The meek aroma offers up spicy hops and some dark roasted malts and little else. The taste is a bit off since they refuse to serve their ales at a reasonable temperature. It really opened up and became much better after it warmed up a bit. I get dark roasted to near burnt malts, dark roasted coffee, thin layers of chocolate and earthiness. All of these notes intermingle with healthy levels of spicy hops as well as lesser notes of pine and a sense of grapefruit.
