This espresso coloured brew gives off a melody of aromas such as dark chocolate, toffee and molasses. Raven has all the dark flavours of a stout, without the heavy body. There are a ton of roasted flavours, with notes of espresso bean and a touch of burnt toast near the end.

473mL can. Pours a dark brown with a white head. Tons of toasted bread, gentle nuttiness on the nose. Flavour has burnt bread, toasted nuts; quite earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice dark lager with good roast character.

Medium brown. Thin head. Nutty, with a slight toffeeish accent. Decent body. It's not bad - doesn't have the malt richness the style should have, but some good character, body and the dry take is okay for schwarzbier.

473mL can, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has dry bready malt, toasted nuts, and some earthiness. Flavour is dry, with bready malt, some earthiness, and a touch of toasted nuts. Earthy, bready, and lightly herbal. It’s alright.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2024/09/30; thanks Sammy). Medium dark brown with small light beige head. Dry bread crusts, clean and simple, but a touch thin. Average.

Can from the LCBO. Super dark mahogany with a small khaki cap. Nose is dark roast, coffee, and chocolate. Light molasses sweetness with a medium- dark chocolate and coffee bitterness. Mouth is medium- with slightly soft carbonation and a dry finish. 8-/3/7/3/14

Schwarzes Lager, in der Nase angenehm röstig, ebenso im Trunk. Fast wie ein Stout nur etwas leichter. Passt.
