Bottle to chalice, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange, slightly brown color with a finger’s worth of dieing white head. Not much lace but what was there, slid quickly.
The aroma had some burnt chocolate malts, orange zest, grassy hops, light toast, cherry cough drop and some super sweet raisins.
The flavor was semi-sweet with a big dryness about the flavor. Orange zest doesn’t really hold it’s own as much as I would have wanted it to. Aftertaste was dried malts. Finish was malty.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with not much of any sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, odd Belgian Dubbel. Sometimes Evil Genius isn’t exactly up to par.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered orange-brown. Thin, patchy off-white head. Sweetish bubblegum with a hint of brown sugar aroma. Sort of pleasant, but thin and watery for the style certainly. Not so bad, but still sort of seems off in some respects..though not as blatantly as some of their other offerings. Very amateurish, unimpressive.
